CEC: Observers from over 40 countries accredited for presidential election in Belarus

MINSK, 15 January (BelTA) – International observers from over 40 countries have been accredited to monitor the presidential election in Belarus, CEC Secretary Yelena Baldovskaya told reporters, BelTA learned.

"To date, territorial election commissions have accredited over 37,000 domestic observers. We will be accrediting domestic observers until the start of early voting. That is, 20 January is the last day when entities can send their representatives as observers to relevant territorial commissions," Yelena Baldovskaya said.

Accreditation of international observers continues. "A little over 400 people have already been accredited. The Central Election Commission continues to receive applications and forms from the relevant structures and, accordingly, continues to issue accreditation certificates," she stated. "As of today, we have observers from more than 40 countries, including the countries of the CIS, the EU, the African continent, and Asia. Based on the CEC accreditation, we have a wide enough geographical representation of international observers."

The presidential election in Belarus is scheduled for 26 January 2025.
